Addie's Angels completes project at local teen's home...

On Tuesday, November 1st HANDYMAN CONNECTION, owned by Ray Calvo, completed a project for a local teenager and her family. Gracie Dixon is presently a student at Slidell Junior High, and she utilizes both a prosthetic leg as well as a wheelchair at times. Access in and out of her raised house has proved to be challenging in the past for Gracie and her grandparents. Below are pictures of the wheelchair ramp that was recently completed. Addie's Angels funded 100% of the project, which was quickly and beautifully constructed by Scott Lobner of Handyman Connection.

Look for more details to come soon, as plans are underway for Addie's Angels to have a walk-in tub installed for Gracie!

Belle Chasse Knight's of Columbus makes another donation to Addie's Angels

On Wednesday, October 12th Grand Knight Mike Chudzinski and the Belle Chasse Knights of Columbus opened their arms to Addie's Angels. Many members of Addie's Angels will remember Mike from the hours of work he and his wife Camille volunteered in helping to make the 1st Annual Walk with Angels a success last year. Mike has made another generous donation to Addie's Angels which will be matched by his employer, Chevron!

Many thanks to Mike and the Belle Chasse Knights of Columbus!

Outpouring of support continues...

Antoinette Melerine, a family friend, has made a donation of $684.88 to Addie's Angels. The generous amount comes from what would normally have been Mrs. Melerine's sales commissions from Premier Designs, Inc., a jewelry company for which she is an independent distributor. If you are interested in hosting a Premier Designs jewelry party at your home or a catalog mailing party, please contact Antoinette at abmelerine@gmail.com. 10% of sales from your party will be donated to Addie's Angels. We are so grateful to Antoinette for organizing this fundraiser!

$25,000.00 DONATION IS ANONYMOUSLY GIVEN IN GREAT UNCLE DANNY BLANCHARD'S NAME!

On Wednesday, October 12th Addie's Angels received an anonymous donation in honor of Addison's Great Uncle, Danny Blanchard. Anyone and everyone who knows Danny is dear to him, including and especially his favorite Great-Niece, Addie! It is only fitting that the largest single donation ever given to Addie's Angels be donated in his name. We love you Uncle Danny!

Along with a request of anonymity as well as the donation being in Danny's name, the donor and Addie's Angels have challenged the rest of our supporters to try and match the $25,000.00 donation!

Today's Blessing: 'Tis Better to Give than Receive

 7-30-11

Today in St. Tammany Parish, three sisters celebrated their birthdays with fun in the sun at a community park in Pearl River. The sisters; Ella (7), Lyla (5) and Emelia (1) decided to celebrate their birthdays together this year since they were all born between July 25th and August 25th. What makes this years party so special is the girls' presents... or lack there of.

This year the girls decided to not accept gifts, but to instead take donations from friends and family to be given to Addie's Angels. This afternoon the Brannon girls collected $310.12. We are so very thankful to Ella, Lyla and Emelia for sharing their birthday. We'd also like to thank the girls' parents, Georgette and Kevin Brannon for organizing the party, and the girls' two older siblings Micah and Claudia for their support.

Thank you so much to the BRANNON ANGELS!

Addie's Trip to Shriner's Hospital

Addison just returned home from a very successful trip to Shriner's in Shreveport, LA. Addie was fitted for a new prosthetic in March, and she just received the prosthetic and a week of therapy. The picture below is of Addie with her OT. Addie's Angels also received an award of recognition on this visit, for the donation given to Shriner's in March. Please visit our "PHOTOS" page to see more from the trip!

Mardi Gras in Shreveport

The Mardi Gras break was an exciting one for the Gallaghers and Addie's Angels. We traveled to Shriner's Hospital in Shreveport. Our experience at Shriner's was phenomenal, and Addie's Angels is proud to announce that we have made a $5,000.00 restricted donation to Shriner's to be used in their Orthotics and Prosthetics department, to assist them in continuing to offer assistance to children with special needs free of charge! As the funds are used the hospital will update us, and we will share that information with our members through our website.
